LGSearch makes it easier for those wanting to search for information about the public sector in the UK. Aimed predominantly at those working in local government, it provides the power of a Google search, but limited to UK public sector websites, ensuring that the results are as relevant as possible. It was developed by Dave Briggs in his spare time. The sites are broken down into the following categories:
Once you have run your search, you can select which types of sites you want to appear by selecting the appropriate category link. The site has been tested in FireFox and Internet Explorer versions from 5.5, including 7. The best way to find out more about LGSearch and to have some sort of input into its development is to sign up with the mailing list, which is hosted by the ever useful Google Groups.
